Last Week:  Eleven Madison Rotarians attended the District Assembly at Meriden and about 15 Madison Rotarians met at the Wharf for a Roundtable discussion.  As always,

the District Assembly was very interesting and informative.  One of the highlights of the day occurred at lunch when four Interact Clubs were presented with awards in four categories: Community Service Project, International Service Project, Interaction with a Sponsoring Rotary Club and Literacy.

The Daniel Hand High School Interact Club won the award for the best International Service Project for its involvement in the Fair Earth Bazaar at Mercy Center (a Fair Trade Business Development Endeavor).  Rianna DiBartolo-Cordovano, a senior at DHHS, was instrumental in achieving the success of the project and she was at the Assembly to receive the award (shown below) from PDG Dick Benson, the District Interact Chair, with Art Criddle and Jim Satterwhite looking on.

Announcements:  We are desperately trying to find historical memorabilia, clippings, photos, etc. to make a presentation for our 80th anniversary.  Much of the material that was thought to be at the Archives is not there.  If anyone has these materials or has a clue as to where they might be, please contact Ruth DeSarbo!

Program:  Next week our guest speaker will be Sanford Livingston, Senior Vice President and Head of the Commercial Strategies Group of Wells Fargo Bank, NA.  Mr. Livingston is based in San Francisco and is coming to speak to our club at the urging of PDG Dick Benson, who made his acquaintance at the Surf Club last summer.
